Advanced Interviewing & Writing Workshops

These advanced workshops are designed for students who want to take the next step after completing the STAR Program or who have a particular interest in developing advanced interviewing and/or professional writing skills.  Each workshop is taught twice per semester by Lisa LaPorte of LML Editing.  Seats are limited, RSVP in Career Wings is required.

Master the written first impression with a workshop designed to prepare and teach you the proper and professional way to communicate with potential employers. Workshop will include instruction in writing: emails, cover letters, letters of recommendation and thank you correspondence. Bring a copy of your resume to use during this interactive workshop.

Phone screening, panel interviews, managing multiple job offers, salary negotiation, tests/presentations and interviewing etiquette will all be discussed in detail during this interactive advanced interviewing workshop. Bring a copy of your resume and any interview questions you would like to discuss as we explore and practicee these tough interview topics.


Presenter Biography:

Lisa LaPorte is a freelance editor and writer with 13 years of experience and over 10 years of experience in higher education working directly with the development of university students. She holds a Master of Arts in English. She has a passion for philanthropy, community & family social groups, music, water sports, creative writing/poetry and travel.


Lisa's specialties include: Writing, Formatting, Editing, Resume/Cover Letter Writing, Creation of Workshops and Resources, Public Speaking & Instruction.
