Summary:
This course will offer an overview and comparison of contemporary Czech and Austrian society. The focus will be on the business practices in both countries, with a particular emphasis on camparative management practices. Students will visit a number of business organizations and governmental institutions in and around the cultural and financial centers, Prague and Vienna, to learn about general management practices.
Austria and the Czech Republic are considered the pearls of Central Europe and provide a unique opportunity to study the impact of communism v. capitalism on culture and business practices. Finally, a number of exciting cultural activities will enhance the students' educational experience in both countries.
