Planning for Arrival

Once students have submitted their application, financial affidavit, and passport copy, they can expect that their DS-2019 will be mailed to their International Coordinators shortly. Students should be thinking about the following issues to plan for their arrival at UNF and Jacksonville.

When to Arrive in Jacksonville

Students should expect to arrive a few days before classes start at UNF. UNF's International Center hosts a REQUIRED International Student Orientation before classes start, too. Please take these factors into consideration when making flight arrangements.

When do your housing arrangements start?

If it is unclear when you should arrive, please email Kate Mattingly.

After Making Flight Arrangements

Students are required to share their flight itinerary with us. We would like to help you plan for your arrival in Jacksonville.

If you will be living on campus and arriving during on-campus housing check-in, we can easily provide a personal pick up service from the Jacksonville International Airport (JIA). Please let us know as early as possible so that we can make arrangements for you.

If you plan to arrive before your housing is available for move-in, you may choose to stay temporarily in one of UNF's preferred hotels (see "Local Hotels" under "Visiting UNF").

Arriving in Jacksonville and Getting Started at UNF

Once you arrive at UNF, students should follow the steps below. You may want to download our UNF map to familiarize yourself with the campus.

Check in at UNF's Housing Department. (Only for students living on-campus)

Visit Kate Mattingly or Abbe Moody in the Coggin College of Business Student Services Office. They can assist you with course registration questions or concerns. There will be a REQUIRED Coggin College of Business Orientation the weekend before classes begin. Information will be provided later about the location and time.

Attend the International Center's REQUIRED orientation. The International Center provides arrangements to local banks, grocery stores and department stores. Times and locations will be announced at this meeting.

After you have your confirmed course schedule, visit the UNF Bookstore to buy your books and get ready for classes.
