Academic Advisement

The Office of  Academic Advising provides individualized academic advisement to all students in the college. Students must meet with an academic advisor to prepare a program of study, which will provide a well-defined set of program requirements. This will enable students to progress in an efficient manner toward the completion of a degree. During the initial advising conference, the advisor will help the student:

  1. select the major which will lead to the student achieving career goals;
  2. evaluate the student's lower-division course work to determine whether prerequisites for the major have been met;
  3. outline the student's tentative program of study (POS) which includes the core and major requirements; and
  4. provide the student with a written copy of the tentative POS and other pertinent information related to the student's major.

The tentative program will be finalized once the student is fully admitted into the college. For more information on how to set up an advising appointment, visit  Academic Advising.
