About Sport Management
The Sport Management program is reflective of the fast-paced and growing
sports industry across the country. The program of study provides an
academic foundation in sports management for application in a variety of
sports settings. Of further significance is that
students receive valuable employment training though practicum and
internship experiences in chosen settings including: college recreation
or athletic programs, community recreation agencies, sport organizations
or business, sport facilities, and professional sports teams.
There are two concentrations within this Bachelor of Science degree from which students may choose.
- The Sport Management concentration is appropriate for candidates who seek careers in
professional sport, college athletics, or sport entrepreneurship.
- The Community Sport concentration is appropriate for candidates who seek
leadership and/or instructional careers in settings offering sport,
fitness, and recreational programming.
Admission to the Program
Those entering the Sport Management program must meet University admissions requirements as well as the following admission requirements of a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and the COEHS CLAST requirements. The CLAST requirements can be waived if you have been exempt from the CLAST for admission into UNF. The following are ways in which you could have been exempt:
- If you transferred into UNF with an AA degree and have either already passed the CLAST or have been exempt from it with SAT scores of 500 Verbal/500 Quantitative OR ACT scores of English21/Reading 22/Math 21.
- If you are a native UNF student with a SAT scores of 500 in both the Verbal and Quantitative or ACT scores of 21/ 22/ 21.
