About me:

I am the newest faculty member in the Department of Special Education at the University of North Florida (UNF). Prior to coming to UNF, I served as a teaching assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Through this experience, I had numerous opportunities to assist in teaching various courses in special education and supervise student interns. Prior to the onset of my doctoral work, I was a learning disabilities teacher in an elementary school setting.

I am passionate about training teachers in effective instruction in literacy at both the elementary and secondary levels. I am fortunate to have opportunities to channel this passion in my Reading and Language Arts methods courses. My areas of teaching and research interest include effective instructional practices, Reading, Spelling, Written Language, and Learning Disabilities. I am also passionate about spending quality time with my family and dining at fine restaurants.
