Dr. Shunda L. Brown received her PhD in Counselor Education with a cognate in Multicultural Counseling from the University of Virginia in 2004. She has worked as a mental health counselor in various rural and urban community settings. She currently teaches graduate courses in the Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling programs. She is the faculty advisor for the Sigma Phi Epsilon Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota International Honor Society for Professional Counselors. Dr. Brown’s research interests include cultural diversity in counseling and clinical supervision, feminist therapy, marriage and family dynamics, multisystemic therapy with marginalized populations, and the role of religious/spiritual beliefs in counseling.
