Chant, Richard Ph.D.Assistant ProfessorCollege of Education and Human Services Department of Foundations and Secondary Education Richard H. Chant is an assistant professor and coordinator for the Social Studies Education Program at the University of North Florida. Dr. Chant arrived at UNF in August 2003 after serving as an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 2000-03 and as a middle-level social studies teacher in Winter Springs, Florida from 1989-98. The primary teaching responsibilities for Dr. Chant include both elementary and secondary social studies methods courses. Dr. Chant is actively involved in the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS), the College and University Faculty Assembly of the NCSS, and the National Middle School Association. His scholarship interests include personal theorizing and action research, social studies instructional processes, and the influence of learning communities on educational reform. |
