e-mail: kwebb@unf.edu Kristine Wiest Webb, Ph.D. is an associate professor at the University of North Florida (UNF) Special Education Program. Kris was recently awarded the 2001 Students’ Choice Outstanding Professor at UNF and the Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award for 2001-2002. She also serves as the Principal Investigator of the Northeast Florida Personnel Development Partnership, a nine-county organization established to meet the recruitment, retention, and special education personnel needs of school districts. Before joining the UNF faculty, she served as the director of the Florida Network: Information and Services for Adolescents and Adults with Special Needs housed at the University of Florida. Her interest in teacher preparation began with a 4-year assignment as the coordinator of a collaborative special education intern program at the University of New Mexico. Prior to this assignment, Kris was a high school teacher for 17 years and was the Albuquerque Teacher of the Year in 1989. Along with her interest in teacher recruitment, retention, and preparation, she has a long-standing interest in postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities, collaboration and parents, and transition to adult life for individuals with disabilities. |
