Dr. Smith currently is teaching in the areas of Multicultural and Urban Education and Cultural and Social Foundations.  His areas of research include the impact of admission and certification, testing on diversity in the national teaching force and the knowledge bases for diversity in teacher education.  Dr. Smith areas of interest include International Educational Programming, Ethnic and Racial Identity Development and Social and Educational Justice.  Dr. Smith also play an important part as one of the program leaders with the international Belize education program.
