Educator Preparation Institute (EPI):

EPI Admission
Requirements:
- Hold a baccalaureate or higher
degree from a nationally or
regionally-accredited college or
university approved by the Florida
Department of Education (FLDOE).
- If you currently are NOT
employed as a teacher, you must be
available during PK-12 school
hours for the field experience
component of the EPI.
- Must be able to pass the state
mandated fingerprint and
background check.
To Apply:
1. Complete and submit the EPI

Application Forms will be available
after February 1, 2010]
2. Write a 100-200 word paragraph about
“why I want to be a teacher.”
3. Submit documentation of your highest
earned degree [minimum of bachelors
degree required for admission] (a copy of diploma is
sufficient or an unofficial transcript
indicating degree).
4. Provide a copy of the Florida
Department of Education's "Official
Statement of Status Eligibility."
(Estimated cost is $75.00) - To get your
Official Statement of Status
Eligibility, you will need to apply for
a Temporary Teaching Certificate from
the Florida Department of Education [http://www.fldoe.org/edcert/apply.asp]
