BAE in Elementary Education (undergraduate catalog)

Major: Pre-Kindergarten/Primary Education (Age 3 to Grade 3)

Degree: Bachelor Of Arts In Education

  • Admission Requirements to COEHS are: an AA degree from a Florida institution, a GPA of 2.5 or higher, the 3 COEHS prerequisites met with a “C” grade or higher, and all 4 parts of the General Knowledge exam passing scores provided.

  • The Professional Ed and Subject Area exams passing scores are required prior to graduation. Passing ALL FTCE scores (General Knowledge, Professional Education, and Subject Area Exams) are required to graduate.

  • Some courses may be offered once a year, be sure to consult the course schedule each semester.

  • Know the prerequisites to courses on the degree audit.

  • NOTE: A minimum of 48 hours at the 3000-4000 level must be satisfied to graduate.

UNF General Education Requirements  (36 Semester hours)

Mathematics  (6 Semester Hours)

Take six credits of college level mathematics classes  MAC/MGF/MGT/STA

 Natural/Physical Science  (6 Semester hours)

Take six credits of any college level science class with at least one associated lab from any of the following:  APB/AST/BCH/BOT/BSC/CHM/CHS/EML/GLY/ISC/MCB/OCB/OCE/PCB/PHY/PSZ/PSC/ZOO

 Communications  (9 Semester hours)

Take nine credits of communication classes to satisfy general education:  Please check with academic advisor for appropriate courses.

 Social Sciences (6 Semester Hours)

Take six credits of social science to satisfy general education. Please check with an advisor.

 Humanities (9 Semester hours)

Take nine credits of humanities to satisfy general education requirements.  Please check with an advisor.

 *Cultural Diversity (6 Semester Hours)

In addition to EDF 2085, a minimum of 6 semester hours with an international or diversity focus is required.
*May be satisfied in other social science classes.  Foreign Language courses may be used to meet this requirement.

 Elective Course (15 Semester hours)

Take 15 additional college level academic courses to satisfy electives.  Please check with an advisor.
