Measuring teacher quality: The impact of the Florida teacher evaluation value-added model on Duval County 

The purpose of this event is to provide the broader community with an understanding of how VAM works in Florida, including the state’s teacher evaluation plan moving forward as well as how this policy has impacted the local school district and teacher training programs. This event will occur just after the end of the 2012-2013 legislative session and will provide attendees an opportunity to hear about recent legislative decisions related to education. COEHS faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend. Formal invitation and RSVP info to follow.

P.E.P. (Public Education Partners) Rally for Excellence  

The goal of this event is to inform and inspire families and communities to engage with and embrace DCPS-aligned programs and initiatives that support student achievement. Goodie bags will be provided to parents and students (by household) and teachers. There will be information and activities for each of the 4 goals of the new DCPS Strategic Plan: Great Teachers & Leaders, Educating the Whole Child, Family & Caregiver Involvement, and Effective & Efficient Use of Resources. COEHS faculty, staff, and their families are encouraged to attend. It may be informative for COEHS students to attend as well.
