Florida Educational Leadership Examination

Educational Leadership candidates seeking certification in Educational Leadership in the state of Florida are required to take the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE).

The FELE is administered four times per year. The dates for these exams are scheduled for

  • October
  • January
  • April
  • July
The FELE is administered at the following Florida locations:
Coconut Creek Gainesville
Fort Myers New Port Richey
Jacksonville Miami
The FELE covers the eight areas of the Florida Educational Leadership Core Curriculum listed in the Florida State Board of Education Rule 6A-4.0082,FAC. The eight areas are organized into three subtests:
  • Leadership, Management, Personnel
  • Communications
  • Curriculum, Finance, Law, Technology
Each subtest consists of multiple-choice questions. The Communications subtest contains an essay designed to determine proficiency in written communication.
