About the Center for Economic Education

The Center for Economic Education helps meet free enterprise and economic education programming needs for the counties in Northeast Florida predominantly in all the school districts within Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Taylor and Union Counties for training and information, in addition to requests from neighboring counties — Hamilton, Baker, Columbia, Union, Bradford, Lafayette, Taylor, Gilchrist, Putnam and Dixie for training and information, and SMG for economic education PreK-12 for public, private and home school teachers.

The center is part of The National Council on Economic Education, a network of centers, councils and national support for free enterprise and economic education.
The center is funded by the Coggin College of Business and the University of North Florida.

John Mundy DR. JOHN MUNDY
DIRECTOR


Dr. John Mundy is the Executive Director of the NV Council on Economic and Entrepreneur Education and the Director of the Centers for Economic and Entrepreneur Education at UNLV and UNR. At UNLV he has run the Nevada Stock Market Simulation since Aug. 1998. He also runs the Entrepreneurship Education Program in 40 CCSD middle and elementary school classrooms. He teaches several classes at UNLV in the Economics and Philosophy Departments including Economics for Teachers, Principles of Macro- and Microeconomics, and Business Ethics. Mr. Mundy holds a BA in Economics and a BS in Business Administration. He holds Master’s degrees in Ethics, Public Policy, and Managerial Economics. He is an advanced Doctoral candidate in the field of Higher Education Administration and Policy. Mr. Mundy has an entrepreneurial history in his business career. He co-founded a unique food industry company in 1977 and ran it until its acquisition in 1985. He joined McKesson Corp., a Fortune 20 firm in 1986, where he developed several nationally branded products prior to moving into a senior operations role. He is now retired as the Regional GM of McKesson Corp in Nevada. He serves on the boards of two public companies and two non-profit organizations.
