November 2006:

SAC news:

In the COAS Student Advisory Council's November meeting, we discussed UNF's newest flagship program; Coastal Biology is the fourth program to reach flagship status. Another highlight in our agenda included COAS Advising. The Advising department is continually changing, implementing new “programs” to aid students. A new computer system used for printing an up-to-date Program of Study is in the works as well as incorporating a counselor from Career Services on the Advising team for a few days a week.

Art & Design news:

•  Advising

That time of year is quickly approaching. To avoid the never-ending line of massive students inevitably waiting to talk to the Advising staff, I encourage you to see them early.

•  Art History Club

The Art & Design department has a club for students interested in art and interested in organizing activities related to art and art history.

•  Trip to the High Museum in Atlanta

The Art History Club is planning a trip to visit the “Louvre Atlanta” exhibition brought to the High Museum . Visit http://www.louvreatlanta.org/ for details. The date for the trip is tentatively set for December 2006.

For inquiries about the Art History Club or the Atlanta trip, feel free to e-mail me.

•  Study Abroad Opportunities

As a fellow study abroad student, the Art & Design department has a magnificent program for studying abroad. See the Art & Design department for more details on their annual summer trip to Italy and other trips.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about or for the Student Advisory Council, the Art & Design department, or UNF please e-mail me. I am here to be your voice.
