Research Interests:

• Cultural influences on people's thinking ( i.e., planning, problem solving, and decision making)
• complex problem solving and dynamic decision making among students in different countries (3-year project funded by the National Science Foundation)
• Planning in daily life of fishermen, factory workers, and weavers in Brazil, India, and Germany
• Use of computer simulations of complex problems as research instruments
• Applied research interests such as creativity, disaster management, training in intercultural competence, and training in complex problem solving
