HONORS IN PSYCHOLOGY

Female StudentOutstanding undergraduate psychology majors who are interested in graduating with the designation "Honors in Psychology" may apply for admission to the Psychology Honors Program after successful completion of the Honors Thesis Prospectus course through the Honors Program. Application should be made at least two semesters prior to graduation.

Admission to the program requires:

  • an overall grade point average of 3.67 or better;
  • junior or senior standing;
  • completion of at least three psychology courses at UNF with a grade point average of 3.67 or better in psychology courses and no grade less than B;
  • a letter of application to the chairperson of the Department of Psychology, which includes a discussion of career plans and proposed research to be conducted for the Honors Project;
  • securing the sponsorship of a member of the faculty of the Department of Psychology to serve as the supervisor of the Honors Project.

In addition to departmental requirements, all Honors in Psychology students must complete two one-hour courses offered through the Honors Program. The first course is the previously mentioned Honors Thesis Prospectus course; the second is the Honors Thesis Seminar. It is recommended that students interested in Honors in Psychology also consult the Advisor in the Honors Program early in planning for Honors in Psychology.
