My research addresses the mental health and functioning of young children in the context of attachment agents and stressors. More specifically, there are three related developmental topics that I am focusing my program of research: 1) the impact of domestic violence or adult conflict on preschoolers' behavioral, physiological, cognitive functioning, and attachment-related behaviors toward their mothers; 2) the development of effective fathering of young children; and 3) attachment processes, including both the protective benefits of attachment objects on stress and the impact of stress on attachment behaviors.
