Research Interests:
I am mainly interested in how culture influences people's thinking, i.e., planning, problem solving, and decision making. For instance, I have analyzed data of planning in daily life of fishermen, factory workers, and weavers in Brazil, India, and Germany. Currently, I am studying complex problem solving and dynamic decision making among students in different countries in a three year project funded by the National Science Foundation (click here to see a poster). Here, I use computer simulations of complex problems as research instruments. I am also involved in more applied research interests such as creativity, disaster management, training in intercultural competence, and training in complex problem solving. |
