BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN PSYCHOLOGY

The degree program in psychology consists of the following requirements:
(A grade of C or better is required in all core courses.)

Prerequisites (12 Semester Hours)

  • PSY 2012 Introduction to Psychology (3 hours)
  • One Additional Psychology Course
  • One Biology Course (BSC x200-x209, or ZOO x010 may be substituted)
  • STA 2014 Elementary Statistics for Social Sciences
    (or any STA x000-x099)
    (3 hours)

Major Requirements (35 Semester Hours)

(elementary statistics required prior to research methods.)

  • PSY 3214 Research Methods in Psychology (3 hours)
  • PSY 3213L Research Methods lab (1 hour)
  • PSY 3025 Psych Major Seminar (1 hour)

Experimental Courses

(PSY 3214/3214L required prior to any experimental course.)

One experimental course from the following:

  • EXP 3703C Computer Applications in Psychological Research (4 hours)
  • PSY 4304C Psychological Testing (4 hours)

Two experimental courses from the following:

  • EAB 3013C Foundations of Experimental Analysis of Behavior (4 hours)
  • EXP 3461C Human Learning & Performance (4 hours)
  • EXP 3680C Experimental Cognitive Psychology (4 hours)
  • SOP 3214C Experimental Social Psychology (4 hours)
