College Board Florida Partnership AP Summer Institute Scholarships

Summer 2008

The College Board Florida Partnership will offer scholarships for Florida public school teachers to attend AP Summer Institutes in Florida during summer, 2008. The Partnership has set the following priorities for Summer Institute Scholarships. If you have questions, please contact the Institute Director Dr. Leonard Lipkin, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of North Florida, Phone 904-620-2653, Email llipkin@unf.edu.

1) Any teacher applying by April 30 from one of the Florida Partnership high priority schools (Click here to see the list of high priority schools)

2) Any Florida public school teacher applying by April 30 who will be teaching AP for the first time for the 2008-09 school year.

3) Any other teacher from a Florida public high school applying by April 30 who has never participated in an AP Summer Institute.

4) If any teacher has attended an AP Summer Institute in the same subject two times in the last four years, they are NOT eligible to receive a Partnership scholarship. They may, of course, attend the Institute using district, school or personal funds.

5) After April 30, any remaining scholarships may be awarded to Florida public school teachers who have not attended an AP Summer Institute in the same subject two times in last four years.

Teachers receiving scholarships will receive up to $500.00 for travel expenses related to the Institute (if the Institute is located outside of the district where they teach) and a $250.00 stipend for completing the Institute.
