Beth Gylys is an assistant professor of creative writing at Georgia State University in Atlanta. She has published two collections of poetry: Bodies That Hum (1999), which won the 1997 Gerald Cable Book Award, and Spot in the Dark (2004), which won the Ohio State University Press/The Journal Award in Poetry. Her poems have appeared in many publications, including the Antioch Review, Ploughshares, The New Republic, Boston Review, Southern Review, Columbia Magazine, Paris Review, and the anthology American Poetry: The Next Generation (2000).
