Teaching
Dr. Causey teaches Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Bio-Organic Chemistry.
Research Interests
Dr. Causey’s research interests focus on developing small molecules that can be used to study macromolecular biological systems. These efforts include the design and synthesis of beta-turn mimics that will allow greater insight into the intra-molecular forces that govern protein folding. His interests also include designing activity-based protein profiling (ABPP) reagents that will facilitate the study of a newly discovered enzyme that catalyzes the post-translational addition of an AMP group to substrate proteins.
Other
Dr. Causey, is the faculty advisor to the Chemistry Club.
