Lazzara Family Scholarship

Established in 2001 by Irene and Gasper Lazzara, this gift provides scholarship for students majoring in the fine and performing arts.

To Qualify:

Eligibility for the Lazzara scholarship is restricted to Art + Design Majors, enrolled full-time, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students possessing a prior Bachelor's degree are ineligible. To receive the full award, candidates must have at least 24 credit hours of coursework to complete prior to graduation. Seniors may be selected for a partial award if they require less than 24 hours to complete the degree; in these cases, the award will be adjusted. For example: a $1,000 award for full-time enrollment would be reduced to $750 (75%) if the student has only 9 credit hours (¾ status) to complete.

Lazzara Scholars will be required to exhibit their work in the Fall semester following their award at an annual scholarship recipient exhibition at UNF. Art History recipients will be required to prepare a statement or a portion of a research paper that they will present at the exhibition. Other forms of publication may also be an option.

The Lazzara Scholarship can be renewed for a second year if the recipient continues to meet eligibility requirements. In order to be considered for continuation of the scholarship, previous recipients must submit a complete, updated application by the established deadline.
