Liaison Majors: Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work
My name is Katherine Kamback and I moved to Jacksonville in early 2016 to join the UNF family as a College of Arts and Sciences academic advisor for Anthropology, Sociology and Social Work majors.
I earned both my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees from Florida State University. I worked as an admission officer for 4 years at the FSU Tallahassee campus until I moved to Panama City Beach to work as an academic advisor at the FSU branch campus there. I enjoyed living on Florida’s west coast, but my brother is a proud UNF alum and I have family here in northeast Florida, so I am excited to now call Jacksonville home!
I love animals (I have a dog, Piper, who is the love of my life), going to/watching college football games, and traveling. As a graduate student, I was able to take advantage of a study abroad program in Prague, Czech Republic and loved every moment. That was not my first international trip, and will surely not be my last; I love to explore! As a student here at UNF, I strongly encourage you to not only succeed in the classroom, but to take advantage of outside opportunities as well - whether that be to get involved in clubs/organizations, volunteer, research with a professor, or study abroad!
I look forward to meeting and working with you!
