Academic Advisor

Liaison Majors:  English, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and History

I grew up in a military family and have lived in Jacksonville most of my adult life. I have an extensive history at UNF. I have earned a BM in Music Performance (percussion), a BA in English (minor in philosophy), and a MA in English from UNF. Needless to say, I am very familiar with UNF and its policies! In addition to being an advisor, I am also an adjunct instructor for the English department. My husband is an adjunct instructor in the Music department.

As a student, I was awarded a Transformational Learning Opportunity Grant to perform and write about Eric Ewazen’s “Concerto for Marimba and String Orchestra.” I won the Juliette Cascone Undergraduate Essay contest twice. I have also presented research papers at conferences. My research interests include the ways music is represented in literature and film. As a musician, I have performed at conferences, including an international conference in Lyon, France.

As an advisor, my goal is to help students make the best decisions about their time at UNF and help them prepare for the future. I hope to inspire everyone to take advantage of the many opportunities UNF has to offer.
