Religious Studies Speakers Series

In February 2002, the Religious Studies Program launched an ongoing and interactive speaker series. The series has the following goals:

• to engage students and faculty in discussion of current developments in the field of religious studies;
• to connect the UNF program to the larger field of religious studies by facilitating conversation between UNF faculty and students and prominent scholars in the field;
• to provide students with a better appreciation of the skills and scholarly interests of their professors; and
• to forge and nurture a community amount those interested in religious studies at UNF and in Jacksonville.

Past speakers have included:

• Colleen McDannell, Sterling McMurrin Chair in Religious Studies, University of Utah
• Mary Segers, Professor and Chair of the Department of Political Science, Rutgers University, Newark
