Continue the Adventure! Attend the OLLI Annual Meeting!
Mark your calendar, set your iphone or write a note. You are invited to OLLI’s Annual Meeting at the University Center, May 17, from 3 to 4:30pm. You will learn where OLLI has been, where it wants to go, and have a voice and vote in deciding who will get you there. You will:
- Vote on bylaws (they are posted on the right side of this website).
- Choose a president-elect.
- Elect three council members-at-large for the Leadership Council. Council members will serve from the fall of 2013 to the spring of 2016.
- Observe the presentation of Distinguished Volunteer Awards to members who have given outstanding service to OLLI.
- Meet the recipient of A Life Long Learner Award presented to the OLLI member who has attended the most Classes/Ed-ventures/Speaker Series Lectures.
A special treat will be the premier performance of the OLLI Joyful Voices, a newly formed choral group singing in three-part harmony. Director Sharon Scholl and Coordinator Julie Reeve have been preparing the group for this first performance.
The yearly meeting gives you a unique opportunity to meet OLLI volunteers, team leaders, Leadership Council representatives, and all those workers who make OLLI happen. As Billie Hayward, OLLI president said, “The Annual Meeting can demystify the “auto-magical.” In other words, all those many tasks that seem to get done automatically and magically really have lots of work and people behind them. At the Annual Meeting, you will discover who some of those movers and shakers are.
There will be a cash bar and light refreshments at the meeting.
