Pressure Point Pain Relief Strategies and Theraband Exercises and Stretching

Summary

Theraband exercises will be demonstrated to show stretching and strength building techniques that can be used in bed upon waking, or during the day while sitting or standing. Theraband exercises are the ultimate therapy tool to increase flexibility and muscle strength. Students have the option to practice the exercises during class. Pressure point relief strategies will be demonstrated by identifying trigger points and simple techniques to help relieve pain, including: headaches, sciatica and frozen shoulder. A brief orientation to charts on reflexology of hands will be provided.

 

Recommended: Please wear comfortable clothing for exercising.

Instructors

Marian Frech holds a B.S. in biology. She has been a research biologist in hypertension at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and Marineland, Florida. She is director of the University Athletic Club and has been a fitness instructor for 30 years and a personal trainer since 2005. Maria Dragoo has been a massage therapist for 12 years.
