Dean Veremakis was president of the Orders & Medals Society from 2000 to 2010. A researcher in the area of U.S. awards, medals and decorations, Dean holds an M.A. in American history with a focus on military history from Temple University. He retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve in 1998 and from the Liberty Mutual Insurance Group in 2006. His recent publications include “bogus Purple Hearts,” “Semper Paratus,” “The Ubiquitous World War II Navy Good Conduct Medal,” “The Arleigh burke Honor Award” and “Decorations and Medals.”
