Summary
Class discussions focus on topical issues of the day at the local, state, national and international levels. The atmosphere is collegial; participants are expected to suggest topics for discussion and then actively participate. The objective is to exchange information and ideas in order to gain a greater understanding of today’s complicated world. Weekly sessions provide an open forum for discussion. Periodically there will be an in-depth review of a single topic by a guest commentator. Supplemental readings are sent to participants weekly by e-mail, including a newsletter prepared by the facilitator. Accordingly, participant e-mail access is preferred though not mandatory.
