At the Child Development Research Center (CDRC) preschool, we pride ourselves on providing the best child care and education. We accept children from ages 2.5 years to 10 years old. There is no charge for enrolling in just the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) preschool program. All children who are enrolled in our preschool or child care must be fully potty-trained.
Parents who wish to enroll their children at CDRC preschool and child care should come to our administrative offices at Building 49 to pick up a preschool application package. The application forms and Blue & Yellow Physical Form from your child's pediatrician/doctor should be returned to the CDRC at spring, fall, or summer enrollment. UNF student parents must also present a fee-slip showing they are currently enrolled at UNF.
Applications for CDRC preschool and evening child care are accepted from UNF students, UNF faculty & staff, and the general public in November or January for spring enrollment, and April for summer and fall enrollment. If the child care center has reached maximum enrollment, potential CDRC parents may have their name added to our notification list. Should a preschool spot come available throughout the year, we will contact all parents on our notification list in order to fill the vacancy. Please note that all applications are prioritized in the following manner for enrollment:
If there is a spot available in CDRC preschool and childcare, parents must do the following:
***On the day of enrollment, parents must bring:
Please note that we do not hold or reserve spots for CDRC preschool. Parents must submit all their documentation and payment in order to be enrolled at CDRC preschool. If you have questions regarding when you should register, please do not hesitate to contact us at (904) 620-2372.
In addition to filling out CDRC's application, parents enrolling their children into the VPK program will also need to fill out a VPK application form from The Early Learning Coalition. Parents will need to visit The Early Learning Coalition's office or visit one of their designated enrollment sites (dates and sites are listed on their website) to enroll their child in the VPK Program. A copy of your child's enrollment in the county's VPK Program must be filed with CDRC.
