Dr. Sanjay P. Ahuja and A. Patel published their paper, "Enterprise Service Bus: A Performance Evaluation", in the Communications and Network Journal, vol. 3, no. 3, August, 2011.Dr. J. David Lambert and Dr. Pat Welsh received a $10,000 grant, “Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association (SECOOR): A Framework for Monitoring, Prediction and Assessment to Support Decision-Makers Needs for Coastal and Ocean Data and Tools”, from SECOORA for a SECOOR Florida Education and Outreach Hub and continued UNF water quality buoy research.Dr. J. David Lambert gave an invited presentation, "Introducing the Jacksonville Green Map Initiative", at the Plenary session of the Annual Jacksonville Environmental Symposium sponsored by the City of Jacksonville (COJ) Environmental Protection Board, August 19, 2011. The Jacksonville Green Map Project is sponsored by JEA and the North Florida Chapter of the US Green Building Council. The online map provides information on "green" sites in Jacksonville and will be used by the COJ's new Sustainability Resource Center and the Duval County School system to raise awareness about local sustainability initiatives. Dr. Lambert also gave an invited presentation, “Disaster Information Computing”, at the IEEE Computer Society 2011 VAIL Computer Elements Workshop, June, 2011.Dr. Chris Brown, L. Hansen-Brown and Dr. Richard Conte published their paper, “Engaging Millennial College-Age Science and Engineering Students Through Experiential Learning Communities” in the Journal of Applied Global Research, 4(10), 41-58.Ms. Rebecca Johnson, Career Services Counselor for CCEC, and Dr. Ken Martin, School of Computing, participated in the Interactive Intelligence Company Inaugural College Consortium Event. The program allowed for networking with other faculty and career center representatives from other colleges and universities all over the nation, including Purdue, the University of Illinois, the University of California - Irvine, North Carolina State, the University of Michigan, Cal Poly, and MIT.
