Minutes of the Computer Elements Technical Committee Meeting

Vail, Colorado

June 25, 2000

A meeting of the Computer Elements Technical committee was held at 4:00 PM on June 25, 2000 at Vail Colorado. The following items were addressed:

  1. Jerry Merckel was elected Chair of the Technical Committee on Computer Elements for 2000 -2001.  Doug Westcott, the previous chair, was recognized for his outstanding service.

  2. The technical committee has a budget of $2,600 for 2000 from the  Computer Society.  The 2000 budget will be used for the following:  a) Technical Committee Chair to attend Computer Society Technical Activities Board Meetings (twice a year), b) WEB site and data base maintenance.

  3. Web pages for the Computer Elements Technical Committee can be found at: www.computer.org then click on Technical Activities and click on Computer Elements under the home page section. These pages are maintained for each workshop by Katherine Echanique, katzfishy@aol.com

  4. The mailing database is maintained by Jerry Dixon.  Any changes to e-mail or mailing address should be sent to Jerry Dixon,  JerryDixon@cfl.rr.com 

  5. Discussion will be initiated with IEEE HQ on organizational approaches for holding Computer Elements Workshops in Europe and Asia Pacific.
