Basic Requirements for Labs and Lab Reports

Labs are conducted as a group effort. Make sure everybody in the group participates and understands the entire project. Team members not present at a demonstration must perform the demonstration independently for certification. In conjunction with the demonstration, present the certification pages for those team members who are present so that successfully completed experiments are logged. If a team member's laboratory certification sheet submitted with the report is only partially logged, that team member's lab grade will be significantly adjusted (downward) from the lab grade awarded to the report.

Every team member must participate in the experiment. Every team member must sign the cover page of the report. The signature indicates that you have participated actively in performing all phases of the lab work for that experiment and that you have checked every aspect of the report and agree that the report conforms to the requirements as outlined above and that it is neat and free of spelling and grammatical errors. All text material in the report (excluding that in drawings) must be prepared using word processing software. Reports will be graded for writing quality as well as content.
