From School of Computing Policy: Computer Science Track Science Requirements, dated 4/4/01
Two Additional Science Courses for Science Majors
(6.0 credit hours)

For the two additional science courses required, the School of Computing will accept any science courses for science or engineering majors or with a strong emphasis on quantitative methods. The two additional courses do not need to include labs. PHY 2053 and PHY 2054 (College Physics I and II) or equivalent will not be accepted in addition to the calculus based physics since they cover similar physics content, but with a less strenuous mathematics treatment. Additional courses not acceptable for this requirement include:

  • CHM1025C Introduction to Chemistry (UNF) or course with equivalent content,
  • PHY1020C Introduction to Physics (UNF) or course with equivalent content,
  • PCB2050 Genetics and Society (UNF) or course with equivalent content,
  • BCH3023C Bioorganic Chemistry (UNF) or course with equivalent content,
  • PSC3730 Science in the Arts (UNF) or course with equivalent content, or
  • Any course that cannot be used to meet natural science degree requirements.
