Mary Bishop - Academic Focus: Public Health; Engagement Focus: Community-Based Learning and Community-Based Research

 Mary Bishop, a UNF Master of Public Health graduate from Jacksonville, FL has shown great dedication working with the community of Jacksonville through her service to a variety of local organizations including Mayo Clinic of Jacksonville, United Way of Northeast Florida, UF Health Center for Health Equity and Quality Research, Nemours Children’s Specialty Care, YMCA of Northeast Florida, RV Daniels Elementary School, Mayport Coastal Sciences Middle School, and Seniors on a Mission. Mary has also devoted her talents to participating in a variety of community-based research and community-engaged activities which include data collection for the Quality of Life report for Jacksonville, conducting clinical research at the Mayo Clinic, implementing SunWise curriculum in K-12 classrooms, and engaging stakeholders here in Jacksonville within the national membership network of CBMA – the Campaign for Black Male Achievement.  Mary believes that her graduate education has taught her to collaborate with a variety of backgrounds, cultures, ages, and ideals and that this is the only way to address sensitive social issues.
