Lauren Harrison - Academic Major: Social Work; Engagement Focus: Volunteerism and Service

Lauren Harrison, a UNF Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work graduate from Jacksonville, Florida, has shown great dedication to helping those in need in the local community through a number of organizations. She has been instrumental in the UNF Dance Marathon which has raised over $100,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals during her four-year involvement. Additionally, Lauren has mentored at-risk girls at River City Science Academy through C.A.M.P. Osprey and has assisted older people who struggle by providing resources to get them to live the highest quality of life.  Lauren would describe her education gained at UNF as collaborative, through working with diverse populations and focused on being an advocate for change.  She is looking forward to taking the qualities she has gained with her into the future and paving a way for a better tomorrow.
