Melissa Rodriguez - Academic Focus: Public Health; Engagement Focus: Community-Based Internship and Service

 Melissa Rodriguez, a Brooks College of Health Department of Public Health graduate from St. John’s Florida has dedicated her time to advocating for foster children in Jacksonville. The Guardian ad Litem program speaks for the child. Melissa has been court appointed since starting at UNF and visits with each child often, as well as attends court hearings on behalf of the child. Melissa was a foster child at the age of four until turning eighteen and offers a unique perspective of understanding each child because of her past.


Melissa has also been involved with the UF Health comprehensive stroke program as an intern.
