| Prerequisite: Successful completion of previous courses in the DPT curriculum
This course will present current knowledge related to the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of common drugs related to the physical therapy patient management. The course will examine the factors that influence drug absorption, distribution, and elimination. Emphasis will be placed upon the determinants of how a specific dose of a drug will eventually reach target tissues and exert a response. Additionally, the course will explore influence of exercise, application of physical agents, and massage on normal pharmacokinetics. |
