Diagnosis and Management of Psychiatric Conditions 3: Acute and Chronic Management of Children
Prerequisite: NGR 7850, NGR 7843, and NGR 6511C
Co-requisite: NGR 7851, NGR 6892, and NGR 7767
Description: This course will focus on advanced psychiatric/mental health care of children/adolescents and families. The discussion of the DSM-V, use of rating scales, discussion of pre-adult psychiatric conditions and theoretical frameworks important to mental health are included. This is a combined theory and clinical course which requires the student to complete 90 hours of clinical practicum under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional. The course has 2 credit hours for class and 1 credit hour for clinical.
