They say employers spend about 30 seconds looking at resumes to place them on a "yes," "maybe," or "no" pile. To get your resume on the "yes" pile, you will need to have a great layout, highlights on key points, action verbs to highlight skills and accomplishment, and have it targeted to the job you are applying for. Once the employer selects your resume they will then read the cover letter for a better understanding of your interest in the position and why you would be a good candidate.
