Public Health Graduate Programs

Master of Science in Health

Provides students with advanced, specialized skills needed by health professionals. The program requires interdisciplinary study of broad health issues and a choice of two specializations:

Specialization: Geriatric Management
Specialization: Nutrition

At the master's level these specializations demand a more rigorous program of study and commitment than their undergraduate counterparts.

Master of Health Administration

The Master in Health Administration program is designed to prepare graduates to serve in progressively responsible administrative and management positions within the health services industry.

Master of Public Health (MPH)

UNF's MPH Program equips students with a broad understanding of the core areas of public health and its related disciplines. MPH graduates will be able to integrate and apply this knowledge to address pubic health problems, and will possess basic skills and competencies necessary for public heath practice. The Program focuses on factors that influence population health including socioeconomic conditions, cultural beliefs and practices, behavioral risk factors and environmental exposures and host factors. The MPH degree is appropriate for those who want to manage health programs in a wide range of public and private institutions.

Additionally, students receive training in Health Promotion/Health Education, preparing them to enter a career in planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating health promotion and disease prevention programs as well as conducting research and managing public health promotion programs.

Graduates are prepared to sit for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) examination. The CHES title is awarded to those who have met the standards of quality established by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc (NCHEC). The MPH program is aligned with the 10 graduate competencies put forth by NCHEC.
