Master of Public Health (MPH)
Community Health
UNF's MPH Program equips students with a broad understanding of the core areas of public health and
its related disciplines. MPH graduates will be able to integrate and apply this knowledge to address pubic health problems, and will possess basic skills and competencies necessary for public heath practice. The Program focuses on factors that influence population health including socioeconomic conditions, cultural beliefs and practices, behavioral risk factors and environmental exposures and host factors. The MPH degree is appropriate for those who want to manage health programs in a wide range of public and private institutions.
Additionally, students receive training in Health Promotion/Health Education, preparing them to enter a career in planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating health promotion and disease prevention programs as well as conducting research and managing public health promotion programs.
Graduates are prepared to sit for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) examination. The CHES title is awarded to those who have met the standards of quality established by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc (NCHEC). The MPH program is aligned with the 10 graduate competencies put forth by NCHEC.
