Online Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics                        Non-Internship Program 

Overview  

This is a 35-semester hour program with four concentrations: Professional Studies in Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Global Health, and Health Informatics. This program is for students who wish to emphasize the application of advanced nutrition knowledge in a clinical or community based practice. The coursework for this program is delivered using a distance learning format. The Online MS Nutrition Non-Internship Program allow students to pursue an independent research project as a culminating experience in their master's program or 6 pre-approved credits through a series of project, field experience, and independent study courses, respectively. This program admits for the fall semester only. Note: This program is not for persons who want to apply to the MS/Dietetic Internship. 

Admission Requirements

University Requirements

  1. Applicants interested in Professional Studies in Dietetics must have 
    • A baccalaureate degree in nutrition from an ACEND accredited program
    • Or a verification statement from an ACEND accredited program
    • Students without either requirement may need to complete prerequisite coursework. Please contact the Online MS Program Director for transcript review
     
  2. Applicants interested in Nutrition Science, Global Health or Health Informatics concentrations must have
    • A baccalaureate degree in nutrition or a related area from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or its equivalent from a foreign institution. 
    • Students without a baccalaureate in nutrition may need to complete prerequisite coursework. Please contact the MS Online Program Director for transcript review. 
     
  3. All applicants: a GPA of a 3.0 or higher in all work attempted in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study

Admissions Review  

Applicants meeting all criteria are typically notified of acceptance upon review*, space permitting. Application not meeting all criteria may be admitted to the trial program, on a competitive basis and space permitting.  

Tuition

The UNF Online MS Nutrition distance learning program is approved for non-standard tuition, e.g., market rate or self-supporting tuition.
