School of Nursing Accreditation

The School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Accreditation (CCNE). CCNE is the accrediting body of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The School of Nursing is scheduled to receive its next CCNE visit February 11-13, 2015. 


The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs were accredited without recommendation by the CCNE in October 2010 for 10 years.  The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) received 5 year initial accreditation without recommendation by the CCNE in October 2010.  The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education may be reached at One DuPont Circle NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036-1120 or at (202) 463-6930.


The UNF Nurse Anesthetist Program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs, which may be reached at 222 South Prospect Avenue, Park Ridge, IL 60068 or at (847) 692-7050.


The University of North Florida is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees.
