Who We Are
A volunteer group of over 100 women founded in 2003. Our mission is to motivate, educate, and engage individuals in the strengthening and delivery of excellence in women and girls’ healthcare in the Jacksonville community.
What We Do
Our goal is to provide targeted women and girls’ health education to the greater Jacksonville community. We educate the community using the wealth of knowledge and expertise of our members and community health partners. We do this in two ways:
- Educational Lecture Series – we provide free educational presentations to any community organization on a variety of health topics. Each March, we hold our Annual Education Event featuring a renowned speaker on a relevant health issue. This event is our only fundraiser to help endow a research professorship.
- Endowing a Research Professor – We are nearing our goal of endowing a professorship in the UNF Brooks College of Health. This expert will conduct research and education in girls’ and women’s health for the benefit of our community.

If you have a particular topic of interest not on the list, please contact to see how we can tailor a presentation to your organization’s needs.

Annual Luncheon
East Meets West:
Integrative Medicine
The Women and Girls’ Health Initiative presented Lisa Oz, the wife of Dr. Mehmet Oz, at our Annual Luncheon last April. Nearly 500 guests from across the First Coast were present to hear Lisa speak about integrating Eastern and Western medicine.
We are grateful for the support we received from community partners and individuals for this event. Proceeds from the Annual Luncheon will advance our mission of educating women and girls in the greater Jacksonville community.
