The site of vicious racial violence, including massacres, slavery and the roll-back of Reconstruction, Florida is now one of our most diverse states, a dynamic multicultural place with an essential role in 21st-century America. In "Finding Florida," journalist T.D. Allman reclaims the remarkable history of Florida from the state’s mythologizers, apologists and boosters.

This meeting of the book club will be Wednesday, March 12. The Alumni Book Club meets the second Wednesday of every month at 10 a.m. in the Office of Alumni Services located at Alumni Hall. Beverages and snacks will be provided. To join us or for more information, please contact the Office of Alumni Services by calling (904) 620-4723 or by e-mailing unf-alum@unf.edu.

They find inspiration in the stuff of life — items we frequently encounter, use, and discard with rarely a second thought, such as aluminum cans, cleaning sponges, construction debris, corsage pins, masking tape, office supplies and wrapping paper.

The "Material Transformations" exhibit, which was organized by the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, will be on display until April 6. For more information about this exhibit or upcoming exhibits and events, click here
