Areas of Expertise
Dr. Causey’s research interests focus on developing small molecules that can be used to study macromolecular biological systems. These efforts include the design and synthesis of beta-turn mimics that will allow greater insight into the intra-molecular forces that govern protein folding. His interests also include designing activity-based protein profiling (ABPP) reagents that will facilitate the study of a newly discovered enzyme that catalyzes the post-translational addition of an AMP group to substrate proteins.
